RE: Cleaning rubber roofs

For Spic and Span, I heard you should use the powdered kind, it is hard to find.. I actually used the left over bleach and liguid soap mixture I made for the awning and it did a nice job....

RE: GMC Immediate Shaft repair

I replaced the one in my 04 Silverado, was not hard, I did it myself cause it was out of warranty and I wanted the job done right... Took the 06 Tahoe into the dealer and they must have turned the wheel while the shaft was out, a couple months later the Air Bag was inoperative and the NEW dealer said after taking it apart that it was due to the previous dealer fixing the shaft. Now almost a year after the first visit to the dealer to get it fixed, the noise is back, probably less then 10k added to the truck... I will/would never take another car/truck there if it was the last place on earth... They really screwed things up for us there, I think they are all now just about worked out..

RE: brake controller hook-up in a 2002 Chevy

Get the truck specific plug for your model truck, make sure it is for your truck as they changed it in 03 or 04 and then plug that in under the dash near your left foot, there is a block to plug it in and it will all work...

RE: 2008 chevy 2500 Integrated brake controller 12v problem

Most dealers don't even know that there is a wire, that it isn't hooked up or even how to hook it up. When confronting my dealer about it, they had no clue, I came here and under the hood to get mine working and then sent the dealer the info so they had it for the next guy...

RE: 5th wheel hitch

I had a short bed GM 2500HD without the slider, never felt like I needed a slider but then again, I can't think of ANY situation that would put me at 90 degrees to the truck, imagine what that is doing to the tires and axels on the trailer... *shudder*

RE: installing a receiver hitch in short bed trucks

You can get the slide mechanisms from the net to add to your existing hitch. You have to be careful of the pin box extenders as well as my BIL found out, it tore up the side of his bed when turning as it hung too low and was too long to clear the side rail.

RE: GM Trailer Wiring Question

The old body style should need the fuse in place only. The new body style has the fuse but needs the wire connected to stud 1 for the 12volts to the trailer. If you have a IBC, that should be hooked up already but if not, you might need to hook up the hot side for the brake controller as well, that would go to stud 2.

RE: Power to Trailer

Do you have the IBC? That would account for the wire on the left side (stud 2) I would check to see that the appropriate wire was put on the other stud, if they put the other brake controller wire on the other stud and not the 12 volts, you get the picture right? It should have the fuse in place already making stud 1 HOT...

RE: Power to Trailer

For mine, the wires were reversed from what those instructions say (even according to the manual) the wire for the brake is the one taped under the master cylinder and the 12 volts to the trailer was behind the fuse box. Since I have the IBC, I only needed the 12 volts and it connects to STUD 1 and the fuse is already in place... I have a recent post from the February timeframe outlining all of this...

RE: Breezy Point Campground Southern Maryland

Are you looking for over night or seasonal? They are mostly seasonal there and all the spaces are very tight and about the only thing you do get is the beach, there is not much close by. I have not stayed there but have been through. It is not bad but certainly tight if you have a larger rig... We have considered it but just haven't made it...
